This Easter meeting at the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes offered once again the opportunity to wine lovers to acquire magnificent bottles offered by Besch Cannes Auction and appraised by Pascal Kuzniewski in a rich catalogue of 951 lots.

Coming from several very fine private cellars, Burgundy nectars were in the spotlight with the most sought-after vintages of the region. Among them, the coveted grail of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti with an assortment of 12 bottles of the exceptional 1999 vintage (lot 400 sold for 112850€) and the 1997 vintage (lot 401 for 68200€) or a bottle of the 1999 Tâche (lot 430 sold for 8300€), the 2016 vintage (lot 467 for 5950€). Equally renowned are the bottles from Domaine Georges Roumier (including 2 bottles of Bonnes Mares 2010 for 6200€ - lot 78), Domaine d'Auvenay (including 1 bottle of Bourgogne Aligoté sous Chatelet 2010 for 4500€ - lot 330), Domaine Sylvain Cathiard & Fils (including 6 bottles of Vosne-Romanée aux Malconsorts 2015 for 7450€ - lot 102), Domaine Coche-Dury (including 1 bottle of Corton-Charlemagne 2005 for 6200€ - lot 468) or Domaine Leroy (including 3 bottles of Nuits-Saint-Georges aux Allots 1998 for 8050€ - lot 83, 3 bottles of Pommard Les Vignots 1999 for 7810€ - lot 86, 1 bottle of Romanée-St-Vivant 1999 for 9900€ - lot 308) aroused great interest.

Wines from the Rhone Valley were not to be outdone, with several bottles of Château Rayas (including 3 bottles of 2010 sold for 6000€ - lot 313 or 3 of the vintage for 5600€ - lot 314), which are very popular at the moment.

The Bordeaux wines, which cannot be ignored, had the best of it with notably a case of Bordeaux Primeurs 1990 sold for 16400€ (lot 418), a case of the 1996 vintage for 12650€ - lot 319 or the mythical Petrus (including 1 bottle of the 2000 vintage for 4700€ - lot 385 or 1 bottle of 1990 for 4200€ - lot 384).

Champagnes and rare spirits sought after by fine palates will also be on display. Two bottles of Niepoort Vintage Port from 1945, a historic vintage (sold for 5200€ - lots 224 and 225) or lot 475 with a bottle of Chartreuse Jaune "Une Tarragone" from 1936-1941 sold for 4050€.
