Graduate from the school of the culture and art market careers, Claire Chassine-Lambert began by working for a Parisian general auction house before specializing for ten years in a team dedicated to luxury leather goods and fashion.
Now independent, certified CECOA expert, based in Lyon, she also teaches in several schools her areas of predilection and competence that are "haute couture" and luxury leather goods from the mid-19th to nowadays.
Convinced by her knowledge of fashion, art market and her processes, we asked her to lead the Vintage department.
The department "Fashion and accessories" has been created in 2002. This was obvious for a town of smart and glamourous hotels welcoming guests looking for ceremonials and a local population looking for Parisian luxury. We organize 4 auctions per year in Cannes : in a particularly short lived and ever-changing environment, these appointments are always full of surprises and new accessories.
Tableware, luxury leather goods, designer bags, jewels and shoes, signed furs, fashion accessories: all these objects have in common an incomparable know-how and creativity. They are appreciated for their sewing technics, the choice of the fabrics and materials, the quality and rarity of the skins, the originality of their design, the name they bear.
They “make” the fashion and necessarily the auction market : Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Chanel, Céline, Gucci, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Versace, Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Roger Vivier, Yves Saint-Laurent, Salvatore Ferragamo, Tiffany & Co, Lanvin, Chloé, John Galliano…
Over the years, this word has become a bit of a catch-all. It concerns mainly the “ready to wear” clothes and old fashion accessories.
To be vintage, you have to be creative, original, to bring something new, to be different from the others, be characteristic of a season or a parade, so as to be hard to find a few years after.
Collectors are only a small part of the vintage buyers. We deal mainly with individuals who buy for their pleasure. In our sales, collectors are mainly looking for jewels from the 1960’s and 1970’s.
For the objects and clothes made with the skin of animals, we appeal to a zoologist expert (Naturalist, taxidermist, wildlife specialist). He is in charge of all the procedures linked to customs.
