Press release - Wine auctions on December 27, 28 & 29, 2021

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
Assortment of 12 bottles 1999

On 27 December, 800 lots, mainly from a large family cellar, will be offered to a growing number of amateurs and collectors. Some nuggets to be noted such as the numerous bottles of Bordeaux first growths in legendary vintages such as 1945, 1961, 1982, 1990 and 2000. Let's mention 12 Lafite Rothschild 1982 estimated at 20000€ (lot 218), 12 Haut-Brion 1989 (18000€ - lot 247), wines also offered in rare jeroboams, or 12 Mouton Rothschild (18000€ - lot 418) surrounding multiple lots of Petrus often in cases. The main French wine regions (including the Rhône with the highly sought-after Château Rayas) will be surrounded by a selection of the best foreign wines, such as 1 magnum of Sassicaia 1985 (estimated at €4000 - lot 542) or wines from the iconic Californian estates Sine Qua Non and Harlan Estate.

The 28th and 29th of December will not be outdone with a strong representation of the mythical vintages of Burgundy. From the incomparable 1999 vintage, let's mention 1 set of 12 bottles from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti estimated at 65000€ (lot 1200), another of 16 bottles from the 2010 vintage (50000€ - lot 2000) but also the rare Corton-Charlemagne from Coche-Dury (18000€ for 6 bottles of 2012 or 16000€ for as many of 2009). The greatest Burgundy estates will be well represented with Armand Rousseau, Georges Roumier (multiple vintages of Chambolle-Musigny les Amoureuses), but also Méo-Camuzet, Roulot, Prieuré-Roch, Raveneau, Comtes Lafon...)

Once again, the greatest Bordeaux vintages will be on the programme with numerous cases of Petrus (12 bottles of 2000 estimated at €55000 - lot 1152 or, for the greediest, 6 magnums of 2001, estimated at €30000 - lot 1153), cases of Bordeaux-primeurs and Duclot and superb Sauternes which will make the last days of 2021 shine.

Chartreuses, rums (including a bottle of St Lucia 1849 estimated at €6000 - lot 1450), whiskies and great foreign wines will also accompany these three sales. The rare yellow wines of Pierre Overnoy (lots 1177 to 1191) and the marvellous collection of rare and prestigious cognacs (lots 2203 to 2251), built up over the years, will be a particular highlight.
